Many houses in North America, Australia and Europe have at leasttwo bedrooms, usually one master bedroom (dedicated to the household head, such as husband and wife) and one or morebedrooms for the children or guests.
In some jurisdictions there are basic features (such as cabinetsand "means of escape") that the room should be held to bequalified as a bedroom. In many countries, such as Alaska, the bedroom is not required to have a closet and not have to meetminimum size requirements. However, some real estate agent may stretch the definition when listing homes for sale [citation needed].
